The Earth-Sun Distance from Cassini (1625-1712)

International audience Transits of Venus have played an important role during morethan two centuries in determining the EarthSun distance. In 2012, three centuries after Cassinis death, the issue has been finally settled by the lat est Resolution formulated by the International Astronomical Union.
