Iako sami mehanizam djelovanja udlage nije do kraja razjašnjen, dokazano je ortopedsko djelovanje udlage pri osiguravanju stabilnog položaja čeljusnog zgloba, kao i relaksaciji mišića koji sudjeluju u žvakanju, te povećanje vertikalne dimenzije okluzije. S obzirom na napredak tehnologije, trenutno postoji više načina izrade stabilizacijske udlage, koji se mogu podijeliti na digitalne, analogne i njihovu kombinaciju. 3D printanje se zadnjih godina dosta koristi u dentalnoj medicini, pogotovo u stomatološkoj protetici. Svrha ovog preglednog rada je opisati konvencionalne i digitalne tehnologije za izradu udlage, te prikazati način izrade stabilizacijske udlage tehnologijom 3D printanja. Stabilization splint is a therapeutic tool that is most often used in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders of various etiologies, and also to prevent the side effects of bruxism. Even though the very mechanism of the splint has not yet been clarified, its orthopedic effect has been proven in ensuring the stable position of the temporomandibular joint, as well as the relaxation of the muscles involved in chewing, and increasing the occlusal vertical dimension. With the respect to the advancements of technology, there are currently several ways of stabilization splint production, which can be divided into digital, analog and their combination. 3D printing has been widely used in dental medicine in recent years, especially in prosthodontics. The purpose of this review is to describe conventional and modern technologies for making splints, and to describe the technique of making a stabilization splint with 3D printing technology.
