U teorijskom dijelu ovog rada opisano je održavanje kao tehnička djelatnost i funkcija, njene podjele te razvoj kroz povijest. Navedene su vrste održavanja, njihove prednosti i nedostatci te su detaljnije pojašnjeni tipovi održavanja koji se koriste u dijagnostici automobila. U daljnjem teorijskom dijelu opisan je pristup dijagnostici stanja te sami dijagnostički alati, njihova izvedba, svrha i princip rada, te način na koji omogućuju daljnji nastavak rada i popravak kvara. U eksperimentalnom dijelu su obrađena dva različita slučaja pojave kvara te je detaljno prikazan proces izvedbe dijagnostike te određivanje prikladnog korektivnog postupka. The theoretical part of this paper describes maintenance as a technical activity and function, its division and development throughout history. The types of maintenance, their advantages and disadvantages are listed and type of maintenance used in car diagnostic is explained in more details. The further theoretical part describes the approach to condition diagnostics and the diagnostic tools themselves, their performance, purpose, principle of operation and the way in which they enable further continuation of work and repair of the fault.In the experimental part, two different cases of malfunction were processed and the process of performing the diagnostics and determining the appropriate corrective procedure was presented in detail.
