Crvenouha kornjača smatra se jednom od 100 najgorih invazivnih vrsta na svijetu i velikom prijetnjom za područja na koja je uvezena. Prirodno stanište joj je Sjeverna Amerika, a uvezena je na sve kontinente osim Antarktika. U Europi je prisutna u 29 zemalja, a među njima je i Hrvatska. Proučavane su populacije na jezerima u parku Maksimir (Prvo, Drugo i Treće jezero). Kako bih utvrdila u koje doba dana i pri kojoj temperaturi su najaktivnije, obilazila sam Prvo, Drugo i Treće jezero tri mjeseca i bilježila njihovu brojnost. Istraživanje je pokazalo da su najaktivnije između 10 h i 13 h, te u temperaturnom rasponu između 20⁰ i 30⁰. Red-eared slider is considered one of the 100 worst invasive species in the world and a great threat to areas in which it was imported. Natural Habitat North America, and imported it to all continents except Antarctica. In Europe it is present in 29 countries, among them Croatia. Were studied populations in the lakes in the park Maksimir (First, Second and Third Lake). How do I determine the time of day and at what temperature are the most active, I visited First, Second and Third Lake three months and recorded their number. The research showed that the most active between 10 h and 13 h, and in a temperature range between 20⁰ and 30⁰.
