Paleoekološka interpretacija eocenske foraminiferske zajednice odabranih lokaliteta fliša u području Kaštela

Na području Kaštel Štafilića, s odabranih lokaliteta, uzorkovane su naslage fliša. Iz uzoraka dobivenih metodom šlemanja izdvojene su planktonske i bentičke foraminifere te je izračunat njihov udio u zajednici. Taksonomski su određene vrste planktonskih i rodovi bentičkih foraminifera. U svrhu paleoekološke interpretacije napravljena je statistička analiza svakog uzoraka koja se sastoji od izračunavanja ekoloških indeksa. Stratigrafski rasponi određenih planktonskih vrsta upućuju na mlađi dio srednjeg eocena, barton, odnosno E13 zonu, Morozovelloides crassatus. Vrijednosti paleotemperatura su stalne za sve uzorke, a kreću se od 15,33 do 16,95 °C. Zbog malog broja modernih srodnika opisanih planktonskih vrsta u usporedbi s bogatom eocenskom zajednicom, metoda modernih analoga dala je nesigurne rezultate. Prema dobivenim rezultatima taloženje odvijalo na dubinama od 131,6 m do 567,3 m, odnosno na prostorima od vanjskog šelfa do gornjeg batijala. Visoke vrijednosti indeksa bioraznolikosti i dominacije ukazuju na stabilne morske okoliše gornjeg batijala. From the selected localities in the area of Kaštel Štafilić Flysch deposits were sampled. Using method of wet sieving, planktonic and benthic foraminifera were isolated from the samples and their abundances in the community were calculated. Thin sections were done from lithified rock samples. From isolated items, identification of planktonic foraminifera was on species level, whereas benthic foraminifera were identified on generic level. With the aim of the paleoecological interpretation, a statistical analysis of each sample (calculation of ecological indices) was made. The stratigraphic ranges of certain planktonic species point to the younger part of the middle Eocene, to the Bartonian, ie planktonic E13 zone, Morozovelloides crassatus. The paleotemperature values obtained from proportion of different species in studied samples/assemblages are constant, ranging from 15.33 to 16.95 °C.
