Cilj ovog rada bio je prikazati prostorne i vremenske promjene sustava morskih struja u Jadranskom moru i njihov utjecaj na plovidbu. Na osnovu dostupne literature prikazano je što su to zapravo morske struje i kako nastaju, metode mjerenja morskih struja te na kraju i sami rezultat to jest utjecaj morskih struja na samu plovidbu Jadranskim morem. Rezultati kratkoročnih i dugoročnih mjerenja te glavne značajke morskih struja u Jadranskom moru nam kazuju da su morske struje u Jadranskom moru postojane, ali su relativno slabijeg intenziteta ako ih uspoređujemo sa nekim svjetskim morima ili oceanima. The subject of this paper is to show the spatial and temporal changes of marine currents in the Adriatic Sea and their impact on navigation. Based on the available literature, it is shown what are actually the sea currents, how they are formed, the methods of their measurement and the result of their effects on the navigation of the Adriatic Sea. The results of short-term and long-term measurements and the main features of marine currents in the Adriatic Sea indicate that sea currents in the Adriatic Sea are stable but are relatively weak inintensity if compared to some of the world's seas or oceans.
