Tema ovog diplomskog rada je analiza Beethovenove sonate op. 101 u A-duru. Ovaj rad ne obuhvaća samo analizu sonate nego ukratko opisuje život i stvaralaštvo Ludwiga van Beethovena, razdoblja u kojem je živio, a također uključuje kratak sažetak o klasicističkoj sonati općenito. Ta sonata označuje početak Beethovenovog kasnog stvaralaštva gdje se Beethoven bazira više na sadržaj sonate nego na sami oblik. Također se u ovoj sonati uočava korištenje polifonih oblika. Sonata je građena od četiri stavka iako mnogi argumentiraju da je sonata građena od tri stavka, gdje se zadnja dva stavka spajaju u jedan ciklični treći stavak. Moja analiza argumentira sonatu kao četverostavačnu. Sonata je zanemarena u odnosu na većinu ostalih Beethovenovih sonata što nema smisla jer se genijalnost sonate nalazi u novim elementima koji zajedno stvaraju savršenu cjelinu. The theme of this graduate thesis is the analysis of the Beethoven sonata op. 101 in A major. This work does not only conatin the analysis of the sonata itself but also shortly describes Beethoven's life and work, the period in which he lived and I also included a brief summary about the classical sonata in general. This sonata marks the beginning of Beethoven's late period of his work where he focuses more on the content of the sonata rather than the form. Moreover, this sonata contains the use of various polyphonic elements. The sonata is composed of four movements although many speculate that the sonata is actually composed of three movements, where the last two movements are joined. My analysis is based on the sonata as a four movement piece. This sonata is quite neglected in comparison to most other Beethoven sonatas which does not make sense. The genious of this sonata lies in the use of new elements which together form a perfect whole.
