Prirodna potreba za povezivanjem s drugima, koju osjećamo kao društvena bića, se uz pomoć tehnološkog napretka prenosi iz svakodnevnog života u život on-line. Dio tog povezivanja su društvene mreže, internetske stranice putem kojih korisnici dijele informacije odreĊenim komunikacijskim sredstvima i tehnikama, te formiraju zajednice na temelju zajedniĉkih interesa. „9GAG“, stranica nastala kao platforma za dijeljenje zabave, nametnula se kao kompleksna meĊunarodna zajednica s obilježjima društvenih mreža. Na „9GAG“-u korisnici sami stvaraju sadržaj koji konzumiraju, i sami biraju kakav sadržaj žele konzumirati putem sustava ocjenjivanja svakog pojedinaĉno objavljenog dijela sadržaja. Iako je glavnina objava humoristiĉnog karaktera, na „9GAG“-u je oĉita upotreba rodnih stereotipa i diskriminacija dijela zajednice. Većinski dio aktivnih korisnika „9GAG“- a su muškarci u dobi od 18 do 34 godine i meĊusobnu komunikaciju na stranici ostvaruju putem komentara i sadržaja koji dijele. Neke od osnovnih formi pojedinaĉno objavljenog sadržaja, ili posta, su meme i GIF. The need for human companionship, that we naturally feel, is brought from our every day life on to online platforms, thanks to technological progress. A part of our online connection are social networks, web pages where users share information and form communities based on mutual interests. „9GAG“, started as a fun sharing platform, has imposed itself as a complex international community with some social network characteristics. Users create the content they consume on „9GAG“, they also use a voting system for content individually shared, choosing the type of content they want to consume. Even though the content published is mostly humorous in nature, a wide use of gender stereotypes and discriminatory content is obvious on „9GAG“. The majority of the active community on „9GAG“ are men between ages of 18 and 34, and they use shared content, both posted and commented, as a means of connection and communication.
