U radu se istražuje utjecaj koji je članstvo u NATO savezu imalo na formiranje, implementaciju i razvoj obrambene, sigurnosne i vanjske politike Republike Hrvatske. Istraživanje se temelji na analizi koja uključuje temeljne strateške dokumente na području obrambene, sigurnosne i vanjske politike Republike Hrvatske, kao i izvješća Sjevernoatlantskog vijeća koja prate put prema pristupanju Hrvatske članstvu u NATO-u. U radu su obuhvaćeni proces sudjelovanja u Akcijskom planu za članstvo, Partnerstvu za mir i mirovne misije u kojima Hrvatska sudjeluje ili je sudjelovala. Cilj rada je na temelju provedene analize dosadašnje suradnje i ostvarenih ciljeva donijeti zaključak kakve su posljedice pristupanja u članstvo u NATO savezu za Hrvatsku u pogledu obrambene, sigurnosne i vanjske politike. The paper examines the influence that NATO membership had on the formation, implementation and development of the defense, security and foreign policy of the Republic of Croatia. The research is based on an analysis that includes fundamental strategic documents in the field of defense, security and foreign policy of the Republic of Croatia, as well as reports of the North Atlantic Council that follow the path towards Croatia's accession to NATO membership. The paper covers the process of participation in the Action Plan for membership, the Partnership for Peace and the peace missions in which Croatia participates or has participated. The aim of the paper is to conclude on the basis of the analysis of the cooperation so far and the achieved goals, what are the consequences of accession to the NATO alliance for Croatia in terms of defense, security and foreign policy.
