U prisutnosti metalnog predmeta, sami predmet će spremiti dio energije reflektiranog impulsa i povećat će se vrijeme koje je potrebno da impuls padne u nulu. Koriste se u raznim područjima znanosti te svoju primjenu nalaze u sve širem spektru djelatnosti. U radu je razvijeno i funkcijski provjereno eletkroničko sklopovlje za impulsnu pobudu odašiljačke zavojnice, kompenziranje utjecaja izravnog vezanja te sklopovlje za mjerenje signala prijemne zavojnice. Mjerenjima je pokazan utjecaj triju metalnih meta istog materijala (radijusa 1.25 cm, 1 cm te 0.75 cm ) na udaljenosti od 10 cm od prijamne zavojnice u usporedbi s odzivom kada nema metala u neposrednoj blizini prijamne zavojnice. Dana je motivacija za dodatnu funkcionalnost i poboljšanja u razvijanju detektora metala. Pulse induction metal detectors are devices that operate on the principle of measuring the response time of voltage that is observed at the receiving coil which is formed after the sharp decline in the current excitation on the transmitter coil. In a presence of a metal object, the object itself will store some of the energy of the reflected pulse and will increase the time it takes for a pulse to fall to zero. They are used in various fields of science and can be applied in all the broader spectrum of activities. We developed and tested the electric circuitry for impulse excitation of the transmitting coil, compensate for the impact of direct binding and circuitry for measuring the signal receiving coil. From measurement results we can see the impact of three metal objects of the same material with different dimensions targets (with a radius of 1.25 cm, 1 cm and 0.75 cm) at a distance of 10 cm from the receiving coil compared to the response when there are no metal objects near the receiving coil.
