| Summary: | I denne oppgaven utforskes det om det var korstog i Nord-Norge under Håkon IV. Håkonsson. Oppgaven anvender både primærkilder og sekundærkilder til hjelp. De selekterte primærkildene er i hovedsak Håkon Håkonssons Saga, samt utdrag fra Matteus Paris sin Chronica Majora og brev ifra Diplomatarium Norvegicum. Oppgaven lener seg på Pål B. Svenungsens master- og doktorgradsavhandling om samme tema, og bruker hans tolkninger til hjelp rundt tematikken. Gjennom oppgaven blir det i første omgang redegjort for kildene, herunder kildekritisk bruk av dem. Samtidig vil også historiografien til temaet bli redegjort for. Videre kommer hovedfokuset i hoveddelen til å være rundt Håkon Håkonsson, hans arbeid med å konsolidere kongemakt og derfor hans bruk av blant annet korstogsløfter til dette. Dette blir satt opp mot en europeisk kontekst, med korstogstendenser fra Kontinentet og deres innflytelse på den norske korstogsbevegelsen. Til slutt kommer en konkludering på spørsmålet om det ble utøvet korstog i Nord-Norge under Håkon IV. Håkonsson, med primærkildene, tolkningene av sekundærkildene og den øvrige kontekstualiseringen satt opp mot hverandre. Det vi da ser er at forutsetningene var til stede for et korstog i Norge, og at det var tendenser i Europa som kan tilsi at det var korstog på et lokalt nivå. In this bachelor the concept of crusading in Norway during the reign of Håkon IV. Håkonsson is explored. The assignment uses primary and secondary sources to guide it. The selected primary sources are the Saga of Håkon Håkonsson, as well as exerpts from Matthew of Paris' Chronia Majora, along with selected letters from the Diplomatarium Norvegicum. The assignment leans on Pål B. Svenungsens master- and doctorate thesis on the same subject and uses his interpretations to help the subjects theme. The assignment will first be expounding the primary sources, with a critical view. Further there will be a small explaining of the historiography of the subject. The main focus of the thesis will be revolving around Håkon Håkonsson, his work with consolidating his kingly power and therefore his use of crusader vows for this task. This will be put against a European context, with crusading tendencies from the Continent and its influence on the Norwegian crusader movement. Lastly the conclusion on the question if there was exercised crusades in Northern-Norway during Håkon Håkonsson, with the primary sources, the interpretation of the secondary sources and the European contextualisation put up against each other. What we find is that the requirements for a crusade was present, and that similar tendencies in Europe might say there was a crusading effort on a local level.
