Summary:The municipality of Rana covers an area of 4452 square kms. It demonstrates a strong topographical variation and a more or less markedly suboceanic climate. The geology is varible with large outcrops of limestone. The Arctic Circle is crossing the northernmost part of the municipality. The check-list is based on published data, unpublished collections, mainly such kept at herb. TRH, and sundry field notes (not.). Uredinales and Ustilaginales are not included. Data from the neighbouring municipality of Hemnes are included (in sharp brackets). The observationn concarnlng Basidiomyoetes from the area are few and, to a large extent, accidental. Accordingly, thia check-list should be regarded as very incomplete. Species denoted by an asterisk ( ) appear to be previously unpublished from Norway.
