This thesis takes a closer look at these pitfalls to put them into a bigger geographical context. In this study, geographic information system will be used to analyze and study the pitfalls. The Study want to see if climate conditions and the pitfalls can tell us something about old reindeer habitats and where they used to move. At the same time the study wants to look on how the pitfalls are positions in the terrain and if there are any pattern in how they are located. Some part there are some caps between pitfall. The caps are also analyzed and gives both answers and new questions about the pitfalls. All to together the study of the pitfalls and its surroundings makes ups good pictures end maps on how the reindeer used their habitats. It also shows how people use the terrain and their knowledge about the reindeer movements to positioned pitfalls to trap reindeer.
