Masteroppgaven tar for seg denne reguleringspolitikken, og undersøker blant annet hvordan den ble konstruert, hva Britene ønsket å oppnå med den, og hvordan den ble mottatt av hvalfangerne. In 1904, the first land station for whaling was established on the Antarctic island South Georgia, just south of the southern tip of the American continent. The island, as well as the surrounding area - the Falkland Islands Dependencies - was controlled by Britain, which quickly saw the need for regulating the whaling industry which soon emerged. This thesis examines this regulatory policy, asking among other things how the policy was built, what the British hoped to achieve with it, and how it was received by the whalers.
