Effects of an impulse wave on a free floating model ice plate

An impulse wave is generated and allowed to couple with an ice sheet in the IMD ice tank. Phase velocity and frequency are determined for the wave. An elastic mathematical model is presented and used to calculate a dynamic Young's modulus for the ice. NRC publication: Yes
