The results are discussed in terms of loading rate effects, temperature, brine volume and air porosity. A strength index is introduced which correlates the present results in terms of these parameters. This leads to an empirical relationship which gives the functional dependence of the uni-axial compressive strength in terms of strain rate, loading direction, salinity, temperature and ice density. A mathematical description of the failure envelope is presented using a modified n-type yield function. Une série d'essais de compression en confinement a été réealisée sur de la glace prismatique. On a mesuré la charge appliquée et la charge sous confinement latéral. Ces essais servent à déterminer l'enveloppe globale de rupture de la glace dans les trois dimensions. Les résultats sont étudiés au point de vue effet de la vitesse de chargement, température, volume d'eau salée et porosité de la glace. On é tablit un indice de résistance qui met en corrélation les résultats actuels sur la base de ces paramètres. Cela conduit à une relation empirique qui indique la dépendance fonctionnelle de la résistance en compression uniaxiale en termes de vitesse de déformation, de direction de chargement, de salinité, de température et de densité de la glace. Une description mathématique de l'enveloppe de rupture est faite à l'aide d'une fonction limite élastique modifiée de type n.
