Description
Summary:Growth characteristics of individual ice lenses in natural soils have been studied in the laboratory using ramped temperature control. The growth rate rises rapidly after ice lens initiation and this is followed by a protracted period of decreasing growth. The temperature at the growing face of the lens decreases continuously during its formation. Peer reviewed: Yes NRC publication: Yes
