Summary: | This report provides an update on the work being carried out by the Canadian Hydraulics Centre of the NRC, to put the Arctic Ice Regime Shipping System (AIRSS) on a scientific basis. Although the project is not complete, significant progress has been made towards its intended goal. This report describes the work that was done during the past year. This work falls into 3 categories- updating the ice regime database with over 400 new Events; organising and participating in a Workshop on the CHC proposal to modify the definition of the Ice Numeral; and completing Tasks 5 and 6, which were related to the Identification and Detection of Problem Ice.
