M.-AKX To Dine at .Waldorf In keeping with their theme "All on the Night of a Silver Moon" the Mon-damin and Alpha Kappa Chi literary societies will dine amid a nocturnal set-ting in the Waldorf hotel. Manford Knudsvig, Audubon, as "Gay Moon," and Margaret Haugscth, Twin Valley, as "Moon Ray/* will be toastmasters. Appearing on the scene to entertain the banqueteers will be Mildred John-son, Blabon, N. D., as "Moonlight So-nata" playing a piano solo; the 'South-ern Moon" trio composed of Yvonne Sommerncss, Columbus, N. D.; Lois Flugekvam, Moorhead; and Alice Naas, McVille, N. D., accompanied by Mildred Johnson. Miss Clara Duea, the "Moon Lady" will give a talk followed by a trumpet solo by Russell Sands, War-ren, as "Pale Moon." Ruth Malkewick, Watford City, N, D., as "Moon's Eye View" will render a musical reading to be followed by a talk by Prof. Herman C. Nordlie. Er-ling Lian, Fairdale, N. D., as "Moonatic Melody" will sing a bass solo after which the "Full Moon" will rise with the singing of the society songs. NSR-DR Feature Cobber Gates ! Nu Sigma Rho and Delta Rho literary societies have chosen "Cobber Gates" to be the theme of their banquet to be given at the Gardner hotel. "Gate-keepers" (toastmasters) will be Bernice Brevik, Canby, and Sterling Rygg, Fairdale, N. D. In keeping with their theme the fol-lowing musical numbers will be given "Twin Gates" a piano duet by Florence Larson, Warren, and Ann Bestul, Bran-don; a musical reading by Beryl Jensen Fisher; "Gates to Harmony*' by the Delta Rhos; and "Red Gate" a clarinet duet by Norman Wallin, Steele, N. D.; and Ralph Botten, Carson, N. D. The toasts offered will be: "Closed Gates" by Signe Bestul, Brandon "Gaits" by Arnold Matthees, Goodhue "Hinges" by Ellen Anderson, Noonan N. D.; "The Squeak" by Mr. Arthur O Wigdahl, *30, Moorhead; and "Open Gates" by Everett Gilberts' n, Binford N. D. Gabriel Fenyves To Conduct Course Gabriel Fenyves, famous Hungarian pianist, will offer a ten weeks' summer master class at the Concordia Conser-vatory of Music, it was recently an-nounced by Mrs. David Stoeve, direc-tor. Mr. Fenyves has appeared in con-cert in Fargo. The pianist distinguished himself when he was twelve by playing the "Second Hungarian Rhapsody" by Liszt. He was a schoolmate of Eugene Ormandy, conductor of the Minneapo-lis Symphony orchestra, at Royal Col-lege of Music in Budapest. After finishing school he studied with Professor Thoman, a pupil of Liszt. Mr. Fenyves toured Austria, Rumania, Czechoslovakia, Jugoslavia, Holland, and England. His American debut was made in New York. He has been solo-ist with the Minneapolis Symphony and has filled many concert engage-ments throughout the country. Mr. Fenyves will offer two scholar-ships in connection with his work at the conservatory. SAVE AT THE SERVICE LAUNDRY ARNOLD JORGENSON Campus Agent Students Honor Parents, Guests Musical Numbers, Talk Show Visitors Cobber Life At Program Parents of the members of the stu-dent body were honored guests at the second annual Parents* Observance Day program held Sunday. Arthur Myrom, Thief River Falls, student body presi-dent, presided at the program which was arranged by the Student Forum. The prelude was played by Myra Reinertsen, Moorhead; and news flashes were given by Lucile Oehlke, editor-in- chief of the Concordian, Enderlin, N. D. Musical numbers included two songs by the freshman quartet, "Prayer Per-fect," James Whitcomb Riley, and "Lord, I Want to Be a Christian"; a musical reading, "Mother," by Clara Kortgaard, Mahnomen; a cornet solo, "Birth of Dawn," Clark, by Merrill Ped-erson, Twin Valley; and two vocal so-los, "Without A Song," Youmann, and "Sylvelin," Sinding, by Helen Lindseth, Borup. Tea was served in the parlors of La-dies' hall after the program. Mrs. G. L. Gosslee, Moorhead, and Mrs. O. G. Berg, Moorhead, poured at the tea, which was in charge of the college women, Miss Frida Nilsen, dean of wo-men, and Miss Josephine Bjornson, resident head of Ladies' hall. Science Club Gives Langkammerer Gift Demonstrations in physics, chemistry1 and biology were given at the Science club meeting Thursday, by Arnold Matthees, Goodhue, Elbert Hatlelid, Lignite, N. CONCORDIA BOOK STORE The Norway Tour band will be fea-tured in the May 17 activities at Wynd-mere, N. D., tomorrow. Pres. J. N. Brown and Rev. S. G. Hauge, Hawley, will also take part in the "Concordia Day" festivities there. The Concordia band will play an afternoon concert in which the first group of numbers will feature Norwe-gian music and will include the "Wed-ding Day at Troldhaugen," Grieg, and the "Sigurd Jorsalfar Suite," Grieg. The second group 01 selections will comprise "Oberon Overture," Von Weber; "Headlines," Colby; and "The Finale Symphony," number four, Tschaikowsky. Morning services will be delivered by President Brown while Rev. S. G. Hnugo will give an address at the band concert in the afternoon. A banquet honoring the band will be held in the evening. Tho Rev. Overt Skilbred, Wyndmere, is in charge of arrangements. The Wah-peton Alumni club will attend the meeting. S. G. A detailed account of the Norway trip of the Concordia band last summer has just been written by the Rev. S. G. Hauge, of Hawley, for the annual book of the Nordfjordlag. The account begins with the band leading Moorhead last June, continuing with tho tour in the United States to New York, the crossing of the Atlan-tic, the concert tour in Norway, and tho celebration upon their return to Moorhead late last August. This story, together with pictures, will fill over half of the Lag's book. The Rev. Mr. Hauge has been a member of the college board of direc-tors since 1900, and accompanied the band as their official representative. The book is being edited by the sec-retary of the Lag, Dr. Carl Kolset, of Sanborn, N. D. Following a procedure established by former graduating classes, the senior class* has made a pledge for the install-ment of a Belle-Howe moving picture sound equipment. The project is in four units, consisting of two screens, a projector, and a motion picture camera. This equipment will enable the making of both silent and talking pictures. It is planned that a few hundred feet of silent film will be made to record the history of the college. A motion pic-ture file will also be created to keep all films on hand. The presentation of the pledge was mado at the Cap and Gown day exer-cises this morning. The pledge was voted at a class meeting Monday.
