My Dear Phellow Farisees: Congratulations to you from our leader Egophitus for the great misunder-standing you've spread on the Discordia Campus. Guard yourselves against being Moonstruck with fear, hate and Confucius. This is best undone by either vio-lent attacks in word or misprint. Mighty fortress walls must be built between ourselves and the enemies if we want to keep our fragile faith intact. It depends on you. Defend our faith. De-fend our God. He needs it. If any of you have sinned this semester, let him toil in prayer to the end that he may stand before the Holy One and not kneel in humil-ity. Be ashamed of the Gospel, but be seen praying, giving, yea, even holy-roll-ing. Do your works in public that others will glorify you. There are some things you should know concerning the discerning of true be-lievers. You must develop the disability to spot a heretic without any fore-thought. This is an area in which you must not be narrow-minded; you must be close-minded. Following are a list of guidelines to help you develop tunnel vision. First, don't associate with sinners. How can you expect to keep yourselves clean if you take time to interact with those less fortunate than yourselves? Second, those who are true believers can be spotted by their fruites(some have gone ba-nanas and others are nuts). There shall be no evidence of suffering, self-denial or poverty amongst us. After all, we are called to bear jewel-studded crosses not those splintery wooden things, are we not? Another sure sign of be-lievers is the outward con-sistency of their emotions. They will constantly be smi-ling for they now have no problems. A myriad of "re-ligious" buttons will decor-ate their attire and their trousers should be worn at the knees. Do not give heed to the idea that Christianity is an inward change result-ing from the death and resurrection of a man claim-ing to be God. Rather it reveals itself in a consistent outward lifestyle which can be easily misidentified. For more tips on spotting hosts of pharisites, send for our free package of soul manippulation resources, including the Reversed Sub-standard Vision, more flashy buttons,a "how to" booklet on advanced Bible banging,(a special Ole-roll-ing translation for Norwe-gians is available), and a tape of our new recording including the following hymn: Just as I am, with every plea For all the time I spend for Thee Because I work I came to be Accepted as a pharisee.
