Torvik, who are about to return to Madagascar. Expressing ap-preciation to the Torvik family for their influence at Concordia, Pres, J. N. Brown wished the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Torvik Godspeed on their mission. Miss Josephine Bjornson spoke con-cerning St. Lawrence Island in Alaska. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Thomas Burgess, Miss Doris Kretzschmar, Mrs. J. H. Hjelm- 9tad, and Miss Clara Duca. Mrs. Scott to Minneapolis Mrs. Tom Scott will accompany Coach Scott to Minneapolis this week-end Speaks on Hobbles Prof. T. O. Burgess spoke to the Dil-worth Hobby club on hobbies Wednes-day evening. He gave demonstra-tions of pottery and copper work. Torvik Is Speaker The Rev. G. Torvik spoke on "Atone-' ment" at the monthly meeting of the pastoral conference held at Ladies hall Monday morning. J Spend Easter at Watertown The Rev. and Mrs. Oscar C Hanson are spending their Easter vacation at Watertown, S. D., where the Rev. Mr. Hanson will preach the Easter service. Talks to Bdhesda Group Hie Rev. Oscar C. Hanson spoke to the Bethesda Lutheran Brotherhood last evening. Za Lenten Speaker "Christ Before Pilate" was the topic on which the Rev. Oscar C. Hanson spoke at the Lenten services Wednes-day. Visit Sister The Rev. Oscar Rem, Portland, N. D., and Mrs. M. W. Campion, Fergus Falls, visited with their sister Miss Carolyn Rem last week. Teaches at Oakes Enid Ruth Reinertsen is substitute teaching for Myra Reinertsen, who is recovering from an appendictomy, at Oakes, N. D. Entertain Torvilu Prof, and Mrs. A. M. Sattre enter-tained the Rev. and Mrs. G. Torvik and family at a 6:00 o'clock dinner Tues-day evening. Among the other guests were: Prof, and Mrs. H. W. Monson, the Rev. and Mrs. C. B. Ylvisaker and daughter, Ruth, Miss Frida Nilsen, and Miss Sigrid Engen. Alumni Club Gives Tea For Fjelstad Hall Funds for the Women's league project for furnishing Fjelstad hall were aug-mented at the silver tea sponsored by the Fargo-Moorhead alumni club at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. N. Brown last evening. Music was furnished by Sibyl Dahl, contralto, Mclitta Muedeking, marimba soloist and Donald Berglund, flutist. Mrs. A. P. Diercks, assisted by Mrs. A. O. Wigdahl and Miss Gilma Rugland *27, Fargo, poured. General arrangements were directed by Omar Mngelssen '36, assisted by Miss Dena Eikenes *23, Sterling Rygg '36, Howard Nelson '36, Fargo, Miss Borghild Tor-vik '31, Morris Fredericks '36 and Miss Mae Rendahl f26. Class Banquet April 24 April 24 has been set as the date for the junior-senior banquet. In charge of general arrangements are Melford Bruer, chairman; Percy Larson, Vemer Hanson, Stella Myrom and Esther Fos-sum. Breaks Ankle in Fall Helen Boyum, who suffered a broken ankle in a fall Wednesday, left for her home in Fergus Falls yesterday. Miss Boyum will remain home until she is able to continue dasswork. Sorben, Johnson On MPE Program Appearing in the concert of Phi Iota chapter of Mu Phi Epeilon at Stone's auditorium Monday evening, two Con-cordia students played piano selections. Marian Sorben played "Mephisto Waltz," Liszt. Evelyn Johnson played Bach's "Prelude and Fugue in D Ma-jor" and Brahms' "Scherzo in E Flat- Minor." Included in the program were Aud-rey Casselman, soloist, Sylvia Plann, pianist, Helen Cramer, soloist and Jack Sampson, violinist. DAK. * Candlelight Service For AZP Pledges The Alpha Zeta Phi society will en-tertain pledges at a buffet supper at the H. M. Dale home on April 3. After the supper the Alpha Zets will install their pledges at a formal candlelight service. Thelma Hefty will bo in charge of arrangements, Kath-erine Evingson will have charge of re-freshments, Hazel Danielson will be program chairman and Hildegard AJ-tenbemd will have charge of invita-tions. Nu Sigs Entertain Frosh at Luncheon Pledges of the Nu Sigma Rho were entertained at a luncheon in a Fargo cafe last night. In charge of arrangements for the luncheon were Valborg Fossum, Helen Ruesink and Helen Marie Bogenricf. Other committee chairmen were: foods, Lila Jones; decorations, Anne Bestul; invitations, Alma Midthune; program, Ellen Anderson; favors, Agnes Torvik and publicity, Delilah Mickelson. Seven Seniors Are Practice Teaching Teaching in five school systems, seven seniors are working out their practice teaching schedules this week. Instructing in the home economics department of the Moorhead high school are Beatrice Ristuben and Ruth Rygg- At Christine, N. D., Lois FIu-gekvam is assisting in business train-ing and history. In social science fields, Ann Bestul is teaching at Comstock, Earl Stennes, at Walcott, N. D., and Clifford Peterson at Kindred, N. D. Roy Foster who is also at Kindred is teaching natural science. Carl Wcstbcrg, and a quartette com-posed of Olaf Eidbo, Orvin Wiberg, Melvin Bennington and John Saeter will sing. A short skit will be present-ed. Lyle Lee, James Olson and Ells-worth Bolstad are writing the Husker. LDS Have Easter Theme Easter will be the theme of Mildred Swanson's talk and Dolores Osen's reading at the Lambda Delta Sigma meeting. In harmony with this theme, music will include a vocal solo by Affie High-land, a trumpet solo by Mildred Nel-son and a vocal trio by Palma Dahl, Margaret Broten and Clara Kortgaard. Oresta Paulson and Clarice Moen will give the Sigmite. AZP Pledges Present ''The Freshman Adventure" "The Freshman Adventure" will be the theme of the program to be given by the Alpha Zeta Phi pledges tomor-row. Eileen Bccklund will act as the "Guide Through the Journey." AJ1 new members will make up the band. "Joy Riding," a skit, will be given by Marian Sjothun, Elsie Merkins, Siiri Eckholm and Dclina Wbldseth. "Roll-ing to the Ivory Coast," a piano duet, will be played by Lorraine TTiorson and Mirth Lutnes. A poem, "Mumbling Along," will be read by Marian Moenf after which Pauline Lofgren, as "Songs of Rests," will sing.
