Martin and Emma Lindvig 1st Lt. in the U.S. Air Force and was killed in a jet plane crash June 30, 1950, during the Korean Conflict. He had one daughter whom he never lived to see as he was killed in June and she was born in October of 1950; Raymond died three months of age; Marian Fahey Locken, born Sept. 25,1927, resides in Lakota and has two sons and two daughters. Martin and Emma Lindvig celebrated their golden wedding in 1964, and are currently residents of the Good Samaritan Home at Lakota. Parents of Martin Lindvig, Fred and Olea Lindvig, came to America from Norway in 1862. Fred was Nelson County treasurer for four years and was also a state representative in the early 1900s. In his later years his friends recall the little black Ford (Model T) Runabout which he drove when he was vending Pioneer Coffee by the pound, the pail or the wooden keg. Frank and Elizabeth Lippert Born Oct. 7, 1880, on a farm near Bellchester, Goodhue County, Minn., to Peter Lippert and Lucy (Tuck) Lippert, Frank Lippert, at age 18, came with his parents to North Dakota and settled on a farm south of McVille. He married Elizabeth Bartholome of Bellchester in 1903, and moved to the McVille area the same year. She was born Aug. 20, 1880 in Wabasha County, Minn. They farmed south of McVille for seven years, moving into town in 1911, the year Frank started the Ford agency in McVille. Later he went on the road as a salesman which he continued until his death Jan. 13, 1948. She died Jan. 28, 1974 at age 93. They were the parents of nine children: Clarence, Richard, George, Edward, Bertina (Mrs. Lyle Travnecek), Betty Ann (Mrs. Gene Bakke), Peter and two children who died in infancy. Their son, George, born Feb. 22,1916, at McVille, married Vivian Brenna, Sept. 27, 1942 at Hope, N.D. He had various businesses while in McVille, including an electrical shop and implement business. He sold his gas and implement business to P. A. Setness and son in April 1951. At the time of his death in an auto accident in April 1953, he was a salesman for Lindsey Bros., Minneapolis, Minn. He and Vivian had two sons, Donald and Peter. t | f f I f Clarence Lippert Family Clarence Lippert was born Jan. 23, 1904, to Frank and Elizabeth Lippert at McVille. He married Mercedes Suess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Suess, prominent Jessie farmers, on Nov. 13, 1931. He was associated with his father in the McVille Auto Co., and as a salesman for Greenland Lunde in auto business in Cooperstown, and insurance business in Nelson and Griggs Counties. They lived for a short while with the Frank Lipperts while in McVille. They were the parents of two daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Wallace Boostrom) and Shirley (Mrs. Wadman). After the death of his wife, Clarence later married Agnes Gieson at Durant, Okla., in 1943. He was in the implement business in Bisbee and served on the city council for a number of years. Bennie and Antoinette Loe Born Sept. 29, 1875 in Minnesota, Bennie came to Dakota Territory with his parents in 1881. On Sept. 26, 1900, he married Antoinette (Nettie) Hermanson of Decorah, Iowa, at the Lars Loe farm near the Sheyenne River in Nelson County by Rev. S.S. Wold. She was born June 30,1872. They lived on their farm in Nesheim Township until they retired and moved to Pekin and lived in the house that his parents, Lars and Ingeborg, had built. Later they moved to McVille where they lived until Bennie’s death on Sept. 22, 1957, at the McVille Hospital. Nettie lived with two of her children until a later time when she became a resident of a Fargo nursing home where she passed away Feb. 14,1963. Their children are: Agnes Idella (Mrs. Arnold Menge), McVille; Leonard Julian, McVille; Bertie Arnold (born April 11, 1906, died Jan. 5, 1954); Esther Beatrice (Mrs. Kermit Anderson), Tacoma, Wash.; James Emmett Fretheim Loe, McVille; Myron Jewell (born Oct. 25,1914, died Dec. 31, 1964). Charles (Bud) and Kathy Loe Charles (Bud) Loe was born April 17, 1935, in the McVille area. He attended eight years of school at Norway No. 2 (near the Sheyenne River). His means of transportation was horseback, except in winter months when his dad took the children in a horse-drawn cab. He graduated from McVille High School in 1953. He married Kathy Haagen in 1954. She was born April 20, 1936, in Tolna area and graduated from Tolna High School and was employed at the Tolna Bank at the time of their marriage. 1316 Scanned with a Czur book scanner at 300 dpi.
