Frank and Ingeborg Olson Frank and Ingeborg Olson Frank Olson was born in Lee Township in 1884, son of An­drew and Amelia Olson. Frank married Ingeborg Lofthus, daughter of Bjorn and Taarand Lofthus. Ingeborg was born in 1888 near Sweet Water Lake in Ramsey County. The Lofthus family came from Rauland Telemarken, Nor­way in 1886 and settled first near Devils Lake and later moving to the McVille area. Frank and Ingeborg were married in 1915 and lived in Lee Township. They had four children: Harold, bom 1916, married Selma Gustafson of Mandan, N.D. in 1947. Harold served in the Army Air Force from the spring of 1942 until the fall of 1945 in the European Theater. Three children were born to this couple: Kathleen and Jeanne, who work at hospitals in Minneapolis and Andrew who lives and works here. Lynn born in 1918 served in the Army from 1941 until 1945 in the Pacific Theater. He married Irene Sides of Concord, N.C. in 1946 and they had one daughter, Marcia. Irene pass­ed away in May 1983. Lyrni now lives in Southern Pines, N.C. Ina, bom in 1920, married Nick Sinhel of New York City in 1946. They have two children, Dianne and Robert, and now live in Wilmington, N.C. Paul, born in 1922, now living in Burlingame, Calif. Frank went to Mayville Normal school and taught school in rural schools a couple of terms. Frank served on the school board from 1922 until 1945 and as county commis­sioner from 1933 to 1941. Ingeborg was a Registered Nurse and was very busy tending to the needs of sick people dur­ing the flu epidemic of 1918. Ingeborg died in 1930 and Frank died in 1945. Nels and Johanna Olson Nels Olson was born in Sweden. He came to the United States in 1891. He lived first in Moorhead, Minn, where he worked at the Peterson Nursery growing and selling plants, vegetables, etc. In 1895, Nels moved to Nelson County. He managed the livery barn in Kloten for many years and also farmed south of Kloten. Nels married Johanna Andreen in 1901. They lived in Kloten and Nels continued his work. On Oct. 13,1908, Nels bought the SWV4 of Section 21 in Lee Township from Charles Colson. John Andreen built the house on their farm where they later made their home. They had two sons, Oscar, born in 1903; Roy bom in 1907 and one daughter, Esther (Mrs. Leonard Ophaug), who was bom in 1909. A rural mail route was started in 1909. Nels was the first mail carrier. In later years, when school buses were used to the Kloten school, Nels assisted with that. In 1941, Nels and Johanna moved to Kloten and their son, Oscar, and they continued to operate the farm. Mr. and Mrs. Olson lived in Kloten until Johanna’s death on Oct. 11, 1943. Nels then moved to the home of his daughter, Esther, and son-in-law Leonard Ophaug, in Field Township.
