The past years he has been doing jobs as a mere past time and as his health permits. The Poehls family Eddie and Diane Hodgson Poehls Eddie and Diane Poehls moved to Tolna in September 1965 shortly after they were married. Eddie is employed by the Tolna Public School as principal and industrial arts teacher. He has taught here for 18 years. Eddie grew up in the Page, N.D. area and graduated from high school there. He received his BA degree in in­dustrial arts from Ellendale State Teachers College in 1965 and his Masters degree in industrial technology from UND in 1979. Diane grew up in Arthur, N.D. and graduated there. She attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, N.D. and worked for Merchants National Bank for three years before her marriage. Diane and Eddie have four children: Dawn, Bret, Tonia and Nicole. Besides teaching, Eddie does much carpentry work and in the spring of 1983, they purchased and operated the “Snack Shack.” Narve and Olga Aaker Ftisgaard Narve Risgaard was born in Flaa Hallingdal, Norway. He came to America in the spring of 1910 to the John Danielson farm. He served in World War I and was discharged in 1919. He bought the Danielson farm in Forde Township in the fall of 1936 and farmed there until his death in March 1962. He married Olga Aaker April 21, 1937. Olga was born at Beaver Creek Rock County, Minn. Aug. 5, 1905. At the age of 11, she and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Aaker, came to Calvin Township, Eddy County in October 1916. She at­tended the Calvin Public School. Narve and Olga had two sons and one daughter. Betty married Monte Breckheimer and they have four sons. Duane married Delores Burke and lives in Tolna. He is employed at the Farmers Union Oil. Lee married Charlotte Bruns from Oakes, N.D. they have three daughters and live in Bowman, N.D. Don Risinger Family Don and Alice Luehring Risinger moved to Tolna in 1958. They have three sons: Dennis lives in Grand Forks and has one daughter, Amy. David lives at home and is employed at the Tolna Fertilizer Plant. Dale lives in Devils Lake, N.D. with his wife Linda and two children. Don worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co., Grand Forks as an appliance technician. Due to poor health, he is now retired on disability. Alice is employed at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Tolna. Larry, Gary, Shirley, Joyce and Askil Snortland. Askil Snortland Family Askil Snortland, son of Simon and Marlene Snortland and Shirley Gutting were married in 1930. Askil was the rural mail carrier out of Tolna from 1931 until his death in 1968. They had four children: Gary, Roundup, Mont.; Glenn, died in infancy; Larry, Seattle, Wash.; and Joyce, Mrs. Lloyd Dickerhoff, Atlanta, Ga. Shirley now resides in Mesa, Ariz. Edward Snortland Family Edward Snortland and Aleda Anderson graduated from Tolna High School. Edward served three years in the Ar­my in the Pacific area. He bought and built up his farm, located west of Tolna, N.D. Edward and Aleda were married Nov. 20, 1947. They have three children. Keith taught physical education and social science at Fargo, N.D.
