Finley MacDonald was back. He was a strong believer of "There are no friends like the old friends." Mr. and Mrs. Louis Novak were married in August. They were one couple in a double wedding. Freda Tressler and Henry Axvig were married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Swenson September 19. Lucille Matheson entered the Deaconess hospital to begin her nursing studies. Miss Helen Halverson and Roll-in Smith were married October 22 at the bride's home. Treva Hertal and Bruce Laing were married February 23. Finley McDonald died at Langdon at 72 years of age. Mrs. Knute Axvig was born in Norway in 1875 and died this year. The former Kristine Thompson, she was married in 1890. Her husband, who was born in Norway in April 1860, died in March 1918, The couple farmed in Osford township and were members of the Hitterdal Lutheran church. They had nine children. Two of their sons, Henry and Clarence, live on the home farm. 1931 — A Couple of Weddings Florence Beechie of Osnabrock and Alfred Asgrimson of Milton were married at Park River August 5. Miss La Rue Sanders became the bride of Ralph Roop of Milton October 1.5. 1933 — William McBride is New Postmaster William Westic Swanlaw and Lola Kathryn Martin were united it) marriage at the home of the bride's parents at Milton. Orval P. Greer of Milton and Miss Viola Jacobson of Grand Forks were married. Edwin Lindtwed and Mari Danielson were married at the Lutheran parsonage. Joel Flom of Milton and Thelma Jeanette Strommen were united in marriage at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Olai Strommen, at Adams. Mrs. Melinda Meling, who died this year, was born in Norway in 1858. She married Erick Meling in 1879 and they came to America in 1881 and to Osford township in 1883. One son, Martin, still lives in Milton. William. G. McBride became postmaster. Mrs. G. Diebel, who was born in Ontario in 1858 and -married George Diebel in 1879, died this year. They moved to Milton in 1887 and lived there since. Hans Hjelmstad was bora in 1856 in Norway and came to this country in 1883. He married Bertha Walstad. They had nine children. He farmed in East Alma township until he died this year. His wife died in 1895. Erick Meling, who died this year, was the father of 1.1 children. Born in Norway in 1857 he came to this country in about 1883 and was married to Melinda Svendskadur in 1879. His son, Martin, lives in Milton. S. N. Lindtwed passed away at his home north of Milton. Services were held at the Presbyterian church. He was born in Illinois in .1.855 and married Annie Newtson in 1892. They came to North Dakota in 1912 when they moved to their.present home north of Milton. His sons, Clarence and Edwin, still reside on the farm. Miss Gudrun Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. K. Anderson, became the bride of Gisli E. Davidson. Mrs. T. B. McCullough died. She was born in 1904 and married T. B. McCullough of Milton in 1928 and lived at Milton since. 1934 — Dies after Kick by Horse Harold Peterson died from injuries received when he was kicked by a horse. Born in Iceland in 1845 he came to this country in 1883. He resided at Milton until his death. In 1889 ho married Bjorg Wium.
