In the fall of 190S, Carl and Dorothea Daede retired and moved to Jamestown. This is an. excerpt from an Article that appeared in the North Dakota Capitol telling of their retirement: One of the best demonstrations of what can be done in Stutsman County was made'by Carl Daede. Mr.Daede came here nearly a quarter of a century ago, worked industriously and persistently and he added to his original claims, secured from the government until he was the owner of !SSGQ acres of land, as fine land as ever lay outdoors. He raised.a large family. His success in Stutsman County is a fair example of what others have done and what many more can do. Mr. Daede came here with very little capital and what he has now represents what he has made here out of the soil. A grandson, Charlie Davis, still lives on the original Daede homestead site. Grandson Waldemar Daede married Leoxta Gums. They are the parents of 2 children - Jolene (Mrs. Terry Baltrusch) who is now living in University Village, NDSTJ and working at the NDSU Library and Ronald .who is.a 1976 graduate of Jamestown High School. ■LYLE and W1LMA DALLYFAMILY Lyle was born on the homeplace, the son of Mr.' and Mrs. F. O. Dally who came to this community in 1015 from. Grordin, ND, (F, 0. Dally resides at the present time at Central- Dakota Nursing Home in Jamestown). Wilia® was born in Greenland Township, The daughter of Mr.'and Mrs. William Erickson, She and.Lyle were married in 1943 and have lived on the Dally farm site since. They are the parents of 4 children: Karen - deceased Lola - (Mrs, Gary Danielson) who lives with her husband and 2 children Randy and Sherry, on her parents farm Vera - lives with his wife, Sharon and' son William in Ypsilanti (Sharon is the daughter of Donald Williams and the granddaughter .of the late Lloyd and Mrs. Willey) Elaine •- lives at hoaie. ^S i^G. 3JS. 3y>. .
