Ole and Esther Berge, a son and a daughter of Nels and Guri Berge live on this farm. OSCAR NESS FARM was formerly owned by Milson Brum well. It is operated by Oscar Ness' son James. ALVIN JACOBSON—first owned by Ole 0. Moen. Before Alvin Jacobson owned the farm it was owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ness. GILMAN WALSVIK. This was N. P. Railroad land. K. A. Walsvik bought it in 1901. Albert Walsvik lived here many years. At present Albert's son Gilman Walsvik operates it and lives there. It is owned by Clarence Joe Aasen of Hatton. NORRIS JOHNSON. This land was N. P. Railroad land and bought by Tosten Klabo in 1902. This farm was owned by Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a Klabo daughter. The farm is now owned by Norris Johnson. CLARENCE LYSTE—The SEy4-19 was railroad land. Ole Nelson bought it in 1902. Lyste is owner and operator now. BJORN OLSON BERGJUE came to Beaver Creek in 1887 and farmed with his brother Jorgen. In 1889 he bought his brother's homestead. Mrs. Olson lived on the farm with her son Ole until she died in 1952. The farm is now owned and operated by Frank Kloster of Sharon. EDWIN OLSON. This farm first settled by Anders Berg in 1885; present owners Clarence and Tena Aason of Hatton. Olson operates it now. ORVILLE HOLMEN farm. Jens Holmen, Orville's grandfather, came to Beaver Creek about 1889. He was a blacksmith and had a shop where he did work for the community. Orville Holmen died in July, 1970. The family lives on the farm. THELMER KLABO—Tosten Klabo came to Beaver Creek in 1883. The farm is now the Carl Klabo farm and operated by his son Thelmer. EDWIN STAVENS. This was railraod land. 1%1 Gunerius Berg purchased this land. Edwin and Barbara Stavens are now owners and operators. C. B. NORGAARD. Edwin Olson first settled here in 1881. Later the home of Thomas Thompson. Norgaard is present owner-operator. THILFORD WALSVIK. Knut Walsvik came to America in 1870 and to Beaver Creek June 1882—homesteaded, and this farm has passed, from son Theodore to grandson Thilford, who now owns and operates it. JOHN L. BJERKE. Owned by Lauris E. Bjerke and now owned by John L. Bjerke, Lauris Bjerke's son. CARL NESS. Andrew Peterson settled here Feb. 16,1885. It was owned by M. O. Ness, and now by Carl Ness. KNUT BRUNSDALE FARM. Acquired this farm around 18% and lived there until his death on Jan. 16, 1899. Farm later owned by Norman Brunsdale (a former governor) and now by his daughter Margaret Brunsdale Larson. Allan Holt is present operator. EDGAR BJERKE. Formerly Edward Bjerke farm, who was Edgar's father. The land was first settled by a Jacob Nelson in 1884. Now owned by Edgar Bjerke and operated by son Earl. ELMER BJERKE—Mads Coltom homesteaded on this farm. Ole E. Bjerke came from Norway in 1872, and homesteaded in Beaver Creek but not on this farm. Later moved to Newburgh Township. In 1897 he moved back to Beaver Creek on the farm now belonging to his son Elmer Bjerke. FLOYD LYSTE—this quarter was railroad land, and acquired by Swen A. Huus in 1902. Mr. Lyste is now operator and owner. CARL MELDAHL JR. SEV4-30. Gunerius Berg—1899, who acquired this farm. It was owned and farmed by Carl Meldahl Sr. for many years, and now owned and operated by Carl Jr. ROBERT ANDERSON—SWy4-31, railroad land, acquired in 1903 by Gustaf and Mary Anderson. Now owned and operated by Robert Anderson and sons. RUTH LYSTE—the widow of the late Orlo Lyste—owns this quarter, the NWy4-19—known as Hjalmer Holmen quarter, and the NWy4-20 known as Edward Bjerke quarter. OLE HESKIN FARM—Homesteaded by Peter Coltom, who farmed it many years. Recently Oscar and Geosley Heskin, sons of Ole Heskin operated the farm. Ole Heskin is in the Northwood Rest Home. The farm has recently been sold. DARWIN WINDLOSS—SWy4-32— Erick Johnson homesteaded in 1884. Osmund Windloss who was Darwin's father, came to North Dakota in 1889. Homesteaded in Norway Township on land now owned by C. B. Norgaard. In 1891 he bought this farm and lived there until his death in 1933. Darwin Windloss Sr. owns the farm and Darwin Jr. operates it. MERRILL & GILMA BACHMAN. This farm was formerly the Ingvald Walsvik farm. The Bachmans purchased it, living in the State of Washington, but spending part of each summer on the farm. Mrs. Bachman is the former Gilma Klabo, daughter of Gilbert Klabo. PAUL BOE. This was formerly the Erick O. Erickson farm. The SVfe-36 was state land, and bought by Ole Erickson in 1913. Paul Boe is now owner- operator. GUSTAV BJERKE, one of the first settlers in Beaver Creek Township, came in 1882. He married Christine Tolem Feb. 27, 1900. She is one of the oldest living pioneers that used to live in Beaver Creek Township. At this time she is living with her daughter, Mrs. Petter Bakken of Hatton. The Bjerke farm is owned and operated by August Pederson. WILLIAM BJERKE, formerly from Beaver Creek, owned and operated a farm now owned by August Pederson. William Bjerke was married to Emma Norgaard who was born in Beaver Creek. Mr. Bjerke served two terms in the State Legislature in 1919 and 1921. TOLLEF TOBIASON FARM west of Tobiason Lake is now owned by Hans Hanson of Sharon, This farm was homesteaded by H. E. Fletcher in 1885. 77. Scanned with a Zeutschel Zeta book scanner at 300 dpi.
