In December, 1981, Kathryn resigned to take a position as district director of parish support for five districts of the American Lutheran Church. She will be a liaison between the Division of Life for Life and Mission in the congregations and the Northern Minnesota, Eastern North Dakota, Western North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin districts. She will work out of the National Office in Minneapolis. Pastor Otis Lee has resigned effective July 1, 1982. The Lees have five children: Becky (Mrs. Paul Hirdman), Sylvia Ruud, Paul, Elizabeth, and Solveig. Pastors Otis and Kathryn Lee stroll on the campus of Luther- Northwestern Theological Seminary, where both have received training as Lutheran ministers. : : ■ : ' : ZION CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH The church has gone through several phases of renovating and redecoration - the last being texturing and paneling the interior in 1979. Several memorials have been given, such as new windows, an electric organ, candelabra, lighted bell structure, new chairs in the basement, and a public address system. Reverend Robinson served the church from 1964 - 1974. Following him was Rev. Walter Scott, who is the present pastor. Serving as present officers are: clerk, Mrs. Orval Bragg; treasurer, Walter Leeson; Deaconesses, Mrs. Arlett Hudgel, Mrs. Lynn Coyer, Mrs. Leroy Kinney, and Mrs. Lillian Gothberg; Deacons: Roger Leeson, Keith Leeson, Leroy Kinney, and Dave Middleton; Trustees: Orval Bragg, Willard Kinney, Keith Leeson, and Thomas A. Ronan. ZION CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WOMANS' GUILD The Manvel Congregational Woman's Guild was organized in June, 1924, at the home of Mrs. Nels Buck. Mrs. Thomas Laidley was chosen as the first president. In 1974, the Guild celebrated its 50th adversary with a special program and tea. Charter members still active Guild members in 1974 were: Mrs. Elsie Middleton, Mrs. Leo Kinney, Mrs. Edna Brown, Mrs. Art Ronan, and Mrs. Holly Sproule. Present officers of the Guild are: President, Mrs. Edna Ronan; Vice President, Mrs. Virginia Schmitt; Secretary, Mrs. Ann Leeson; Treasurer, Mrs. Lois Kinney; Chaplain, Mrs. Arlett Hudgel.
