AUDREY MYHRE (Spouse: Derald Carpenter) Audrey Myhre, daughter of Dorothy and Sidney Myhre and her husband, Derald Carpenter, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in December, 1981. Now of Aurora, MN, Derald and Audrey have three children and one grand-daughter. Their oldest daughter, Julie Ann, now twenty- four years old was married on June 30, 1979, to Greg Michalski. Julie works for U. S. Steel and Greg is the manager of the loan department at the Hoyt Lakes Bank. They live in Hoyt Lakes and have a daughter, Stacia Marie, who was born on July 13, 1980. Their son, Mark, who is now twenty-two years old, was married on May 29, 1982, to Patricia Draz- kowski. Both Mark and Patti graduated in May, 1982, from the University of Wisconsin at La- Crosse. Mark majored in Finance and Economics and Patti will be a CPA. Their child, Todd, who is eighteen years old, graduated from Aurora High School in May, 1982. He plans to attend Mankato State University in September of 1982. He also plans on a business career. Derald has been employed at Erie Mining Co. for nearly twenty-five years. He is a supervisor in the Agglomerating Department. The Erie Mining Co., which employs twenty-five hundred people, mines taconite which is a low grade iron ore. Audrey has been employed by the State of Minnesota for eleven years as an Unemployment Claims Clerk at the Virginia, MN, office. EDWARD F. NAGLE FAMILY Edward Nagle was born at the family home in Ferry Township on April 2, 1898, to William and Sarah Nagle. His father had moved to this farm in 1890 which is located two and one half miles east of Manvel. In 1891 William Nagle married Sarah Doyle and they raised eight children of whom Ed is second to the youngest child. Ed Nagle lived most of his life on this farm except for the period between 1926 and 1941 when he married Bessie Page of Hamilton, ND, and they lived in the village of Manvel. Bessie Page came to Manvel in the fall of 1924 after having taken a teaching course at the Valley City State Teacher's College. She taught what was then called the primary room (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades) in the Manvel School for two years. In the fall of 1926 she was married to Ed Nagle. Her parents were George and Mary Page and she had one brother, John A. Page, who was director of the Medical Center at the University of North Dakota at the time of his death in July, 1950, at age 56. After Ed's parents died he and his family moved to their farm where he lived until his death on July 14, 1975. Then in November, 1975, his wife Bessie bought a home in Manvel where she now resides. The oldest son Robert (Bob) and his family moved from Manvel to live on the home place. During Ed Nagle's lifetime he was active in many community affairs. He was a lifetime member of St. Timothy's Church. He served on many boards, some of which were: The Ferry Township Board, the Grand Forks County Welfare Board in the 1940's, the school board, the St. Michael's Hospital Advisory Board and he was one of the first directors of the Manvel Farmer's Grain Company when it was established in 1955. Ed and Bessie Nagle were the parents of six children as follows: Robert E. Nagle - operator of a trucking business; Mary Elizabeth (Bette), Mrs. C. F. Stout of For- tuna, California, legal secretary for many years and now partially retired; Ramona Mae Nagle, wife of Glenn Callahan who farms east of Manvel; Richard George Nagle (deceased) 1938-1941; Dennis Page Nagle, Alexandria, MN.
