Boise, Idaho; - Betty (Mrs. Larry Franklin), Jackson, Miss.; Boyd, killed in World War II; Orion, on the home farm, married to Ruth Diede. They have four children. CHRIST KITZAN FAMILY Christ Kitzan was married in 1915 to Emma Zimmerman who had come from Johannesthal, Russia, in 1910. They purchased a farm about 12 miles south of Hebron now owned by'their son Walter. They lived on this farm until 1939 when they moved into town. He then worked part time at the Occident for several years. Their family of three children are: Hilda (Mrs. Reinhardt Heinle) and Walter of Hebron; Florence (Mrs. William Metzger), Hazen. Mr. Kitzan passed away in 1954. Mrs. Kitzan resides here in Hebron. She has seven grandchildren. Mr. Sayler, Wilma, Mrs. Sayler, Alma. BENJAMIN SAYLER FAMILY Benjamin came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sayler in 1905. They homesteaded 12 miles south of Hebron. They got busy like other pioneers and began gathering rocks and clay for their buildings and with a hand plow pulled by horses, started to get the land ready for seeding. Their livestock was herded by day and penned up at night. Benjamin married Clara Jose of Willa in 1927. They bought a farm about three miles from his folks. This they continue to farm but their winter months are spent in their home in Hebron. The Saylers have two daughters, both graduates of Yankton College. Rev. Alma Sayler married Rev. Harold Stepanek, and have three children, Carolyn, Cecily, and Bryan. Wilma took up two more years of school at William and Mary College, Virginia. She is a counselor in rehabilitation in Grand Forks. Nick III, Mrs. Linabitz, Mr. Linabitz II. NICK LINABITZ FAMILY Nick, as a small boy, came with his parents from New York City in 1893. They settled on a homestead southwest of Hebron, later moving to town. He began his carpenter work early in life. In 1911 he was married to Elizabeth Kaufman, who passed away shortly after the birth of their son, Nick III. In 1915 he was married to Mary Miller who had recently come to town from New York City. For several years Mr. Linabitz and Ed Geiszler had a partnership in the grain elevator in Antelope. Mr. Linabitz passed away in 1949. His son Nick, III, and wife Virginia have two children; James and Betty Sue. His wife, Mary Linabitz resides in Hebron. Back row, left to right: Rudolph, Ernest, Marie. RUDOLPH RABER FAMILY Rudolph Raber, born in Hebron Aug. 16, 1894, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Raber who came to homestead here in 1885. He was married July 22, 1916 to Helen Krawczyk, who was born Feb. 15, 1900 at Scranton, Pa. They lived at the Raber homestead for a very short time and then for a few years resided in Hebron where Mr. Raber was employed in various local businesses. They returned to the Raber homestead 5 miles south of Hebron to live. They had 6 children, but one died at birth. The living children are: Ernest of Hebron; Marie (Mrs. E. G. Buck) of Milwaukee, Wis.; Rev. Rudolph of Cleveland, Ohio; Evelyn (Mrs. Henry R. Ziegler) of Hebron; and George also of Hebron. Mr. Raber was active in the local Lions Club, the Brotherhood of the E. & R. Church and was See-Treas. of the Hebron Community Hospital Board from its origin until his death in June of 1951. The accompanying photograph is Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Huber. JACOB HUBER FAMILY Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Huber and daughters Mary, Katie, Christine and son Jacob, jr., came to U. S. in 1910 from South-Russia. They homesteaded on Beaver Creek northeast of Hebron. Besides farming Mr. Huber operated a coal mine with the assistance of his family. Later they bought the Walth place sixteen miles northeast of town. Their family grew to number nine: Mary, Mrs. John Scheuffele, Katie, Mrs. Christ Scheck, Lydia, Mrs. K. Elder, Dan and Martha, Mrs. John Redman, are of Hebron, Christine, Mrs. John Unruh, Beulah; Jacob Jr. Almont; John and Elvina, Mrs. Ed Unruh, deceased. The Hubers moved to Hebron in 1942. Mr. Huber died 1954 and Mrs. Huber passed away 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Elmer. HENRY ELMER FAMILY Henry Elmer came with his parents from Renwick, Iowa, in 1886 at the age of six years. They settled six miles northeast of Hebron. They went into diversified farming on their 13 quarters of land. Henry attended school here and later attended the Fargo Business college. On July 22, 1924 he was married to Margaret Rusch of Chicago, 111. She was the daughter of Rev. Herman 90 Scanned with a Zeutschel Zeta book scanner at 300 dpi. Edited in Multi-page TIFF Editor.
