Summary: | The stratigraphical members of the Dividal Group (also called the \"Hyolithus zone\") in Finnmark are compared with the Eocambrian-Cambrian sequence of the Tanafjrod-Laksefjord districts. The lower part of the Dividal Group falls within the Eocambrian while the upper part belongs to the Lower Cambrian. The correctness of the correlation was confirmed by finds in 1966 of fragments of Platysolenites antiquissimus Eichw. in the Breivik Formation near the head of Laksefjord as well as in the \"member IV\" of the Dividal Group south of Porsangerfjord. Based on literature of the different members of the Dividal Group are traced along the south-eastern border of the Caledonian belt through Troms into northern Sweden, and a stratigraphical comparison is carried out between the areas at Tanafjord in northern Norway, Sjougd\u00E4lven in Sweden and Ringsaker in southern Norway. 34924
