P(論文) 第40次南極地域観測隊(JARE-40)は, エンダビーランド, アムンゼン湾周辺での広域的な地質・地形調査を実施するために, 小型ヘリコプター2機を導入した。地質および地形チームは, それぞれトナー島, リーセル・ラルセン山にベースキャンプを設営し, 西エンダービーランドの地学調査を試みた。しかし, 調査期間中に強風に見舞われ, ヘリコプター1機が損傷を受けたために, 当初の計画を遂行することはできなかった。本報告では, ヘリコプターオペレーションに関連する計画立案, 準備, 結果そして問題点等について, その概要を報告する。 The 40th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-40) installed two helicopters to support field survey in the western Enderby Land, East Antarctica. Geological and geomorphological teams established base camps at Tonagh Island and Mt. Riiser-Larsen, respectively, and tried to conduct regional field surveys in the area. Unfortunately, planned surveys have not been completed due to a heavy wind condition which damaged one of the helicopters. This report gives planning, preparation and results on the helicopter operation. departmental bulletin paper
