The relative phases between the increase of periodic VLF emission intensities and the increase of northward magnetic field were approximately 180°different. From this phase difference we calculated the time delay between particle precipitations into the ionosphere induced by periodic VLF emissions and the current flow in the ionosphere by the enhancement of conductivity by the model proposed by SATO. Though there was some ambiguity in calculating the value, we estimated the relaxation time to be approximately one second.
