Description
Summary:At Ny-Ålesund NILU is involved in many scientific projects that focus on global and regional atmospheric chemistry such as stratospheric ozone depletion, the greenhouse effect (from gases and aerosols), tropospheric ozone (in-situ production and depletion in the boundary layer), or the transport of pollutants from mid-latitudes (Arctic haze). This report presents a brief historical overview of NILU’s research activities at Ny-Ålesund since 1973. This report, furthermore, shows and discusses the scientific results from the first years of operation of the Zeppelin station since 1989, and presents ongoing projects.
