The Kottas Terrane is the northernmost crustal block in the Heimefrontfjella. It is composed of juvenile Mesoproterozoic igneous rocks of calcalkaline composition and minor sedimentary rocks, which underwent amphibolite-facies metamorphism in late Mesoproterozoic times (Grenvillianage orogeny).
