Description
Summary:This is a short video animation of a "flythrough" of Orkney Passage, between the Weddell and Scotia Seas, using multi-beam sonar and satellite gravity-based measurements. Much of the sonar data was collected in connection with the BAS Long-term Monitoring and Survey activity in Orkney Passage. The clip was provided 'pro bono' to Darlow Smithson Productions Ltd., London, for use in the television documentary "Earth From Space", part of long-running science series NOVA, broadcast across the US on PBS on Feb. 13, 2013. British Antarctic Survey is credited at the end of the programme.
