Biography of Tom MacRae, USN, Dean of Students, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. Capt. Tom MacRae was born in the Bronx, NY and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with honors in 1987 (BS, Oceanography), where he served as a company commander and a member of the intercollegiate boxing team. Capt. MacRae was winged a Naval Flight Officer and qualified as a mission commander aboard Patrol Squadron Sixteen, deploying to Sigonella, Sicily; Keflavik, Iceland; and Howard Air Force Base, Panama. He transferred to Tactical Support Center NAS North Island, CA and deployed aboard USS Lasalle (AGF-3) in Manama, Bahrain, where he organized multi-national naval exercises among Gulf Cooperation Council and NATO allies. Capt. MacRae subsequently earned an MBA (Finance and Strategy concentrations) at Yale University. Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited.
