Summary: | The medusa fauna of the mid North Atlantic Ocean between 24\xc2\xb0 and 55\xc2\xb0 N along approximately 30\xc2\xb0 W is studied. Two Hydromedusae new to science, Oceania tydemani and Annatiara lempersi, are described. The differences in fauna south and north of 42\xc2\xb0 N, and faunal borders near 50\xc2\xb0, 48\xc2\xb0, 45\xc2\xb0, 35\xc2\xb0, 30\xc2\xb0, and 34\xc2\xb0-37\xc2\xb0 N are discussed. The vertical distribution and for some species the diurnal migration and subtropical submergence are recorded. |
