Visitors enter through a lower portal and descend, rather than ascend as is customary in museums, past successively larger display bays advancing towards the magnificent panorama of the Strait of Georgia, thereby participating in an interaction that is visual and also allegorical in its suggestion of descent through valleys to the sea.
