Description
Summary:Item is a sound clip of Kate Hettasch providing a description a Christmas play in Nain. She says that when Christmas time came they began preparing for the Christmas play. She asked the boys if they would perform, but they said that they were too shy. Kate finally convinced them to get involved by telling them that they could dress up in costumes and grunt the Christmas songs. After they made the costumes and the scenery and began practicing it was quickly realized that grunting the Christmas songs wouldn't be very entertaining for the audience. Fortunately, the kindergarten teacher agreed to have her 36 students provide the singing for the play. Over 300 people came to the new auditorium to see the performance and everyone was very pleased. The next day Father Christmas, played by the storekeeper John Sweetland, came to town on the Alaska sledge and visited the children in the classrooms. It was very hot work so Kate gave him a cool glass of lemon-aid. Item is a sound clip of Kate Hettasch providing a description a Christmas play in Nain.
