McGuire, Andrea Peckford, Bruce, 1940- Bruce Peckford was born in Whitbourne, where he lived with his family until age 10. His father, who had been employed with the Newfoundland Ranger Force, switched careers and became a social worker, which took the family to Marystown for five years. Then, the family relocated to Lewisporte, and Bruce moved to Toronto at 18 to study Information Technology. Bruce spent his career working for the provincial government, and has been married to his wife, Shirley (Rossiter) Peckford, since 1966. They have two children.
