Built in approximately 1940 by Lawrence Ryan and used to store vegetables grown in adjacent gardens until the 1950s. During the late 1950s and early 1960s the cellar was used for smoking pork and has not been used since. It is a sod and stone cellar with entrance through two doors that lead into cellar. The roof is supported with railroad irons that were acquired by builder’s brother Bernard and father William, who were employed by railroad when the tracks were changed. The rails are covered in flat rocks, clay and sod. It has had problems with leaking. The interior of the cellar is 2.5 m x 4.2 m with a 2.5 m x 0.9 m entrance between exterior and interior doors. 1.7 m interior height.
