Summary: | A mill lunch basket belonging to Sandra Colbourne, Grand Falls-Windsor. This basket was used by Matthew Chesley Thorne, Colbourne's father. Thorne worked in the machine shop in the mill in Grand Falls-Windsor from 1942 until his retirement in 1990. The basket was constructed by Angus Gunn c1950. Material used is broken off hockey sticks. Written on the inside of the lid, in pencil, is a heart with Thorne's wife's name (Marge), his payroll number (1055 4388) and the phrase "sugar my love". |
