She identifies a home remedy that her mother used when they had a cold. 00:11-00:52 introducing Harnum, born and raised in Hopeall, one brother and one sister, sister lives in the next door; 00:56-04:37 school life in the community, went to one room school and then went to two room school here in the community, they had to keep the rooms of the school heated and every morning had to take pieces of wood to the school to keep the place warm, had one teacher at first and then got another one, studied from kindergarten to grade 11 in that school, and then also completed grade 12 here in the Hopeall, favorite subject was history; 04:39- 05:59 left school to look after her mother, her mother was crippled, when she was three years old her mother lost the last leg; 06:01- 07:55 used to grow their own vegetables, used to sell potatoes; 08:00- 13:16 her father used to work in town and also did fishing, her sister went to the town for working, she used to stay at home to look after her mother, used to fetch water from another place every day for home and collected water before the storm, shares the story of her mother that how her mother used to do all household chores though being crippled; 13:33- 14:16 they had ships, goats, hens, pigs, eggs, small potatoes to grow and managed their own food and cattle; 14:21- 15:11 her mother used to make clothing mostly for her and her siblings, she knitted sacks, sweaters, used to wear snickers; 15:20- 16:46 special meals were mostly vegetables, sometimes baked breads and beans for breakfast, once or twice a week used to eat occasional dinners like potatoes, cabbage and homemade gravy; 16:56-17:34 Christmas was the only special event; 17:41- 18:54 mom used to rub hot kerosene and butter together in the throat and chest as home remedies for the cold; 19:01- 21:19 ...
