His mother's family came from Waterford and his father's family from Kilkenny in Ireland. He was a farmer and also taught himself the Irish Gaelic and botany. Built by John O'Brien in 1850, the O'Brien farmhouse survived a fire in 1975. Brothers John,Michael and Aloysius spent their lives on the farm. Aloysius introduced the farm and life in the past and today. Two photos included in this report: one was the fireplace in the house and the other was Aloysius standing in front of the house.
