Description
Summary:This first volume contains primarily reminiscences of Dad Morrys youth in Newfoundland and his period as a young man in the early 1900s knocking around in British Columbia when the fishery and the economy in Newfoundland had become so bad that many young men were fleeing to the United States of America and Canada to find a living. This diary runs out after 52 pages simply because the notebook in which it was written contained only that number of blank pages on which to write. The continuation of this narrative is to be found in the diary written commencing on Dec. 30, 1939 and finishing on Nov. 14, 1940, which will constitute the material for Volume 2 in this series.
