Scans and transcript of a journal of occurrences at Griquet, French Shore, Newfoundland, from January 1 to May 15, 1883; December 24, 1883 to May 3, 1884; December 9, 1884 to June 20, 1885; and December 21, 1886 to February 26, 1887. The journal includes a daily account of the weather, entries and clearances of vessels at Griquet, as well as daily life around the community and surrounding area. There are also entries dated March 5 - June 13, 1886 recorded on the S.S. "Neptune" while off the north east coast of Newfoundland during the seal fishery, as well as two entries dated October 6 and 7, 1897 recorded on the S.S. "Walrus" during an election trip around St. Barbe's district.
