The first is silent footage taken in North West Labrador in the 1943. Text in the opening reads: In August 1943 Mr. Jules R. Timmins (President, Labrador Mining and Exploration Co. Ltd.), Mr. Noah A. Timmins (a Director), and Claude K. Howse (Newfoundland Government Geologist) visit the concession area of the Company in North-West Labrador to examine and inspect the iron ore discoveries of the area. Includes many aerial scenes of the Labrador landscape. The second sequence, starting at 00:09:34, is silent footage an inspection party to Hollinger Lake and Ruth Lake Valley, Labrador consisting of Dr. A. O. Dufresne (Quebec Deputy Minister of Mines), Dr. T. L. Tanton (Geological Survey of Canada) and Dr. A. K. Snelgrove (Geological Survey of Newfoundland) probably from the 1940's. The third sequence, at 00:20:40, is entitled "Wabana", presented by Memorial University and includes audio. It presents a brief history of the Bell Island and the mining industry that developed at Wabana. The three films were produced separately. The Wabana segment has full credits at the end, including Executive Producer, Donald Snowden.
