| Summary: | Takamahaca Attempt getting out which gave me an opportunity of Examining a small Island above the Harbour which I found Loaded with Plants I had not seen before in a Wonderful manner (1) a Kind of Cinquefoil, Potentilla [P. norvegica L.],?� upright & rough (2) a shrub with small flowers without Petals of the Dioecia octandra Class [Shepherdia canadensis (L.) Nutt. ] it had Rough Leaves & Lay on the ground (3) Takamahaca [* Populus balsamifera L.] with Plenty of Fruit but the flowers were gone a species of (4) Grass, Poa ? Trivialis [P. pratensis L.]?4 which I take to be the Common Poa grass of England (5) a Podded Plant, * Arabis Alpina ?, growing on Rocks near the sea side (6) Plenty of the Uva ursi, Arbutus Uva ursi [Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (L.) Spreng. ], Alpine Mouse Ear, * Cerastium alpinum, (8) a Shrub for it no where was so Large as a Small Tree, Acer ? Pseudoplatanus [Acer spicatum Lam.], which Very much resembled Scycamore a Kind of Willow with silky Leaves [unident.]?5 (9) a Plant That appeared to be a species of Whitlow grass [Draba incana L.]?6 (10) a Plant with a [see 'Tacamahaca'] PRINTED ITEM FEB 1974 W.J.KIRWIN JH FEB 1974 Not used Not used Withdrawn
