If you hit it behind the hole you were out but if you hit it out in front you measured off the distance with your puss-stick and counted one point for each length. When you _tiddleyed_ you were out if someone caught your tidley stick but if not caught you counted the number of Puss-stick lengths as points. Forty Five was a game and if someone on your side had been OUT and you made a complete game without missing a turn that person was IN again.
